Salam, Greetings. Shalom. lol.
I've been mulling about this topic for quite some time now. Ok, have you ever heard about Obsessive Compulsive Disorder or better known with its famous abbreviation, OCD?
I had this suspicion that everyone has it, only differing in the degree of it or whether the person make it visible or not.
Alas, a simple Google search confirmed my suspicion - that each and everyone has some degree of OCD in them!
It is like a built-in feature...a 'service pack' that came bundled with each individual which can't be removed, unless you crack that person. Eh? too much nerdy terms pulok. Haha!
Is it a fact hard to swallow? Not really. Imagine this: Put yourself in a situation in which if you don't do that thing/act/chore/whatever you won't be contented until it has been done.
Can't picture it? Never mind. Here's some example:
- Separating M&Ms into colors and making them 'fight' for your favor (which one to be eaten first)
- Making sure everything is arranged in order right down to the few millimeters
-Arranging movies in alphabetical/chronological order.
..and so much more!
For me, sometimes I'd play a scenario of what would happen over and over again in my head before it is carried out. Usually I'd plan that action and play it on repeat - again and again until the deed has been done...especially if it is something big, or a prospective 'Big Event of The Day' for me.
Perhaps it's a mixture between paranoia and OCD, no? o.O
Heck, even the act of 'mulling over this topic for quite some time' aforementioned...(in the first sentence) I think, could be considered as a result of OCD.
So, is it a good thing or a bad thing?
It depends lah. If your OCD-ness is putting people or even yourselves into trouble then yes, it's a bad thing.
But if your OCD-ness won't kacau people..then by all means, just let it be. It could turn out to be a plus feature too, if you've that little obsession of keeping your things in order and your room tidy and homey.
Personally I think mine's not that bad. I don't kacau people...I just like my things and personal belongings to be where I want them to be...so that in the future I'd always know where I last put them.
Ends.
Geram kan tengok?? Rasa macam nak angkat balik letak betul-betul. -taken from 9gag- |

1. When I read this post prior to publishing, somehow it's quite scary lah. Kena control la rasanya. huhu~
2. Mungkin the term 'Grammar Nazi' is a hypothetical term used to describe OCDs who are obsessed with the correct usage of grammar?
